Can I Edit the Sequence of a Campaign After It's Activated?

Once your campaign is active in Outboundry, you have the ability to adjust certain elements mid-flight for ongoing optimization, but core changes to the campaign structure are restricted to preserve consistency and deliverability.

What Can Be Edited in a Running Campaign?

1. Delay Times Between Actions

You can modify the delay period between steps (measured in hours or days) at any time. This allows you to fine-tune how quickly or slowly each stage of your outreach advances.

  • Example: Adjusting a delay from 1 day to 2 days, or vice versa.

  • Note: The minimum allowed delay is generally 3 hours, except in scenarios where a shorter gap applies (such as immediately after a connection accept).

2. Message Content

You are free to update the content of messages for any campaign step—such as connection requests, direct messages, or InMails.

  • All custom message fields can be edited.

  • Changes only affect leads who have not yet received the edited message step. Those who have already gone through that part of the sequence will not see your updated content.

  • Outboundry does not currently support A/B testing or message variant edits within an active campaign.

What Cannot Be Changed After Activation?

  • Adding or Removing Steps: You cannot insert new steps or remove any steps from a live campaign. To restructure your outreach sequence, you must duplicate the campaign, make your edits, and then activate the new version.

  • Adding New Leads: Currently, it is not possible to import new leads into an ongoing campaign. This limitation ensures the integrity of the campaign, but support for this feature may be added in future versions.

  • A/B Testing: No support exists for creating or editing A/B test variants during an ongoing campaign.

Applying and Saving Your Edits

  • After making changes, always click “Save” or “Apply” in the campaign editor.

  • If you paused your campaign to make edits, simply resume it afterward. This ensures all pending messages reflect your revised content or timing.

Important: Edits only influence leads who have not yet reached the step you updated. Those who have already gone through a given step will not retroactively receive new content.
