How to Use Blacklist in Outboundry

The Blacklist feature in Outboundry allows you to prevent specific leads from being contacted in your outreach campaigns.

Once a lead is blacklisted, Outboundry will automatically ensure that no LinkedIn or email outreach is initiated for that lead — across all campaigns.

This helps you:

  • Avoid contacting existing customers

  • Prevent duplicate outreach

  • Exclude competitors

  • Respect opt-outs and internal suppression lists

  • Protect your sender reputation

🚫 What Can You Blacklist?

You can blacklist leads based on:

  • Email addresses

  • Domains (e.g., @company.com)

  • LinkedIn profile URLs

If a lead matches any blacklisted entry, the system will automatically skip them during campaign execution.

🛠 How to Create a Blacklist

Step 1: Go to Blacklist Settings

  1. Log in to Outboundry

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Click on the Blacklist tab

Step 2: Create a New Blacklist

  1. Click Create Blacklist

  2. Give your blacklist a name (e.g., “Existing Clients”, “Competitors”, “Do Not Contact”)

  3. Choose how you want to add entries

➕ Adding Entries to Blacklist

You can add blacklisted records in two ways:

Option 1: Paste Manually

  • Paste email addresses (one per line)

  • Paste domains (e.g., company.com)

  • Paste LinkedIn profile URLs

Example:

john@company.com
@competitor.com
https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-doe/

Option 2: Import via CSV

  1. Click Import CSV

  2. Upload your file

  3. Map the column (Email / Domain / LinkedIn URL)

  4. Confirm import

This is useful when uploading large suppression lists or CRM exports.

⚙️ How Blacklist Works in Campaigns

Once added:

  • Blacklisted leads will be automatically skipped

  • Outreach will not be triggered via LinkedIn or Email

  • If a lead is already in a campaign, they will not receive further steps

  • New imports will automatically check against blacklist before execution

You do not need to manually apply blacklist to campaigns — it works globally within your workspace.

🧠 Best Practices

  • Maintain a dedicated blacklist for:

    • Customers

    • Partners

    • Competitors

    • Internal domains

  • Regularly update your suppression list

  • Upload unsubscribed contacts to avoid compliance risks

  • Use domain-level blacklist to exclude entire companies

❓ Common Questions

  • What happens if I blacklist a lead who is already in a campaign?

    • The system will stop initiating any further outreach for that lead.

  • Does blacklist apply to all campaigns?

    • Yes. Blacklists are workspace-level and apply across all campaigns automatically.

  • Can I create multiple blacklists?

    • Yes. You can create multiple named blacklists for different purposes and manage them separately.

  • Can I remove someone from blacklist?

    • Yes. You can edit or delete blacklist entries anytime from the Blacklist tab.
